Time Line Architecture was founded by Simon Cretney, who has over 30 years of experience in the architectural industry.
Faced with post-Covid 19 challenges, Simon decided to establish Time Line Architecture as a desire to create a far more client-centric approach to architecture, allowing him to continue his passion for design along with a direct hands-on approach guiding clients through every stage of the process, from initial consultation, right through to final site handover.
Simon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Technology from the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and is registered as a Professional Architect with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
Over the years, he has worked with prominent architectural firms such as Munnik Visser Black Fish and Partners, Cook Messaris Wapenaar, Lupini Architects, and Alive Architecture.
His extensive background spans both the residential and commercial sectors, making him a versatile architect with a wide range of expertise

What types of projects does Time Line Architecture specialize in?
We specialise in residential and commercial architecture including housing developments, building conversions and interior design BUT we are happy to extend our specialities into the realm of anything that requires architectural input. Our services are tailored to meet the needs of each client, no matter the scale of the project.
What is the process for starting a project with Time Line Architecture?
The process begins with an initial consultation, where we discuss your vision, requirements, and budget. From there, we develop a design concept, followed by detailed working drawings. We then handle council approvals and manage the project through to completion, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
What architectural design software do you use?
We make use of Autodesk Autocad which is an industry standard along with SketchUp and Photoshop when 3D diagrams are required. Simon started drawing in Autocad in 1990 and his knowledge of the programme ensures that all drawings are accurate, detailed and fully compliant with all local building regulations.
